MILKY CRAB SPIDER (Zygometis xanthogaster) and PINK RICE FLOWER (Pimelea ferruginea)
This artwork featured a white milky crab spider sitting on a pink rice flower plant which is a native flower to Western Australia. These are common spiders found in many Australian backyards as well as coastal and semi-arid areas. They are too small to be considered harmful to humans, and instead prey on small insects by way of ambush from flowers. Females are notably larger at roughly 6.5mm in length, whereas males are only 3mm. They are not considered at risk. This artwork was completed with various coloured pencils on cold press cotton card.

This piece was drawn exclusively in coloured pencil to an A5 square size (approximately 15cm square) on cold press cotton card.

Please ensure proper care of the artwork, professional framing is recommended and hanging out of the elements and away from direct sunlight.
